Subtle And Stunning Way To Wear Sparkle

Sparkly nails are really stunning from day to night. I love how the sunlight brings the colorful glitters to life which would certainly make anyone take notice. Even at nighttime, the lights will set off the Ombré Glitter Mani beautifully. It will make you think of fairy dust and fairies with its sparkle.

By using a nail polish that follows the natural color of our nails, this nail art design creates the illusion of having dipped the nails into a bag of fairy dust. Very fanciful and quite magical! Great to wear for masquerade parties or cosplay events! It’s even easy to do and wouldn’t take much of your time. All you need are nail polish in sheer peony-pink shade, clear nail polish with primarily pink glitter, and quick-dry top coat.

Yes, nail art is sometimes very difficult to create. And if you can’t do it on your own, you will lose interest. Good thing, Cosmopolitan has introduced this Ombré Glitter Mani design. It’s so easy and quick yet, the end result is really stunning! Nail artist Holly Falcone shows us her flawless technique to make sparkly nails in just few simple steps.

1. Prep and paint. After you’ve filed your nails into a shape that mimics your cuticles (the most flattering of nail shapes), pushed back your cuticles — remember, DO NOT CUT THEM! — and applied a base coat, paint all your nails with two coats of a sheer peony-pink shade. Hand model Nzingha used Essie Nail Polish in Spaghettie Strap.

2. Add glitter. Choose a glitter that’s primarily pink and begin to paint your nail. But first, get rid of any excess polish that’s on the brush by dragging it over the neck of the bottle, so you’re left with just a little bit of glitter. Apply it to your nail three-fourths of the way down to the tip of your nail. This creates the beginning of your ombré look. Nzingha used Smith and Cult Vegas Post Apocalyptic.

3. Using the same polish, swipe the glitter from the halfway point of your nail to the tip, building the gradation.

4. Concentrate on the edge. Lastly, pat the tip of the nail only with the same glitter polish. This will make it the darkest point to finish off the ombré effect.

Finally, apply a quick-dry topcoat over it!
